I am very pleased with the look of these lights. In my case I bought an 18w and a 24w 5000k lightbulb and combined them with this inexpensive dimmer https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQDKGDJ. If you've ever seen a house with daylight coming through fiber optics, this is what 5000K light looks like. These are very bright light bulbs that, thanks to LED dimming technology, can be dimmed without turning yellow or orange no matter how dim you make them. When enabled, the bottom light filter doesn't appear as if it exists. rather it looks like a hole for daylight. A well designed LED light should last for many years and I think/hope using a dimmer will extend the life and provide additional surge protection.
