I installed the drive with no problems. Then I tried to clone the drive with WD/Acronis but the program didn't install. I called WD and they tried politely and at length to "clone" me. After several hours of discussion, WD representatives explained that the drive is designed for RAID systems and that a red, blue, green or black drive has an error check of 7 ms instead of 200 ms or longer. This is because the RAID controller normally performs error detection processes so the drives don't waste time doing redundant checks. So if you get a bad sector, the drive will try to check it, but it may time out if it takes longer than 7ms and the sector problem will just be ignored. If you use this drive, run CHKDSK more often than usual just to make sure you've identified the problem with the drive. I want to buy two so I can set up my Inspiron 531 in a RAID 1 configuration and have no problems at all. Okay maybe that was too much information but I just thought it would be nice if it was good.
