Wow, this thing is tough. It compresses exactly as the product image shows. Attached is a photo of my Teton Sports +20 sleeping bag, before and after tightening the straps on this sleeping bag. Update for more info: I bought a small compression bag for clarification. I also have a Teton Sports +5 degree sleeping bag and it barely fits in a small bag and there isn't much compression left at this point. So if you have a warmer sleeping bag I would recommend a medium sized one to be on the safe side. You can always stuff your clothes in if you have space. At the moment I mainly use it for hiking clothes and for that it is perfect.
