I bought this to oxygenate wort for home brewing. With the addition of a 5 micron stainless steel "rock" and a 5 pound oxygen tank, it works great! I used to use tiny $8 02 bottles from major department stores but found that they just weren't giving me the amount of oxygen I needed. Of course you can always "rock, baby" and try to get enough O2 into your wort by shaking/rocking the bucket/bottle, but I've found this to be much better and more effective. For high gravity beers I supplement O2 with a drill mounted agitator so I know I'm fine! 60 seconds of O2 with the stein ensures that the little yeast has enough O2 to do its thing and brew good beer. Make sure you use common sense and follow standard safety practices when using/storing oxygen (i.e. no oil, no combustible materials, etc.).
