We originally bought this for a narrow aisle to keep our new puppy in the kitchen. It was so hard to find gates that would fit such tight spaces, but these fit different widths. Now that the pup is older we moved him to the bottom of our stairs to expand his limits and it was easy to add extensions and expand the space. PLUS - No need to drill holes in the walls (great for renters like us!). It's surprisingly strong and sturdy to be a stress gate. For context, our pup is a 40 pound German Shepherd mix who loves to run like a madman at incredible speeds but hasn't developed his braking skills yet. She has yet to overthrow him, although the body has hit him multiple times. wm. She's fine, the gate is still up and we're working on the indoor speed control.
