Review on πŸ”¨ Tonic Studios Tim Holtz 372 Craft Pick with Retractable Feature by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not bad for branded holes but metal bends easily

Got this to make my first scrap magazine. Although I found it convenient to thread a needle and thread it through the holes, I ended up bending the metal. The metal tip comes out by moving the retractable button, which is nice as it retracts into itself so there's no chance of unexpectedly poking yourself. While making my signature holes is easy for me, I have to make sure I don't press on them too hard or the metal will likely bend even more. Who would have thought that I was so strong. But for $5 it's a keeper. I've been thinking of buying an awl but the price was much higher and I don't have to do my signature holes that often so it's enough for my needs. If you're making thick magazines, you can use an awl, which can be found at any Lowe's store. They're designed for more complex applications, so they're better than these if you need to use them frequently.

Pros
  • Kraft
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
