The Best of Pointed Tools

This retractable pointed tool makes it easy to stay safe by simply retracting the needle. The soft grip makes it comfortable to hold even over a long period of time. Because the needle is tapered, it even works for my paper embroidery projects. I recommend this tool for any project. Because it's bright red, it's easy to spot on my art table. I don't like carrying the cap in a separate piece like most pointed instruments because they always get lost. This is the best pointy tool I've ever had.

Pros
  • Papercraft Tools
Cons
  • No Instructions

Not what I expected from Tonic Studios with the Tim Holtz name.

Of course it wasn't very expensive, but I expected this retractable pick to be heavier in my hand. The pull-back mechanism is a bit tight and the pick itself has a larger diameter, making it difficult to detach the paper from some of the dies. The main reason I bought this is because I'm always reaching across my tool basket and banging my wrist on sharp tools! This choice is good for preventing accidental piercing. I hate mopping up blood.

Cons
  • Long Delivery

Not bad for branded holes but metal bends easily

Got this to make my first scrap magazine. Although I found it convenient to thread a needle and thread it through the holes, I ended up bending the metal. The metal tip comes out by moving the retractable button, which is nice as it retracts into itself so there's no chance of unexpectedly poking yourself. While making my signature holes is easy for me, I have to make sure I don't press on them too hard or the metal will likely bend even more. Who would have thought that I was so strong. But…
