Review on Scythe Shuriken Profile 120Mm Cooler by Sam Doucette

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I could see and feel the quality. Just water **in this ITX** would beat it

Revain treated me well. About $7 less than the main competitor, PLUS they accommodate me for the night, yes, free! (I'm Prime). I could see and feel the quality. Five heatpipes side by side. I'm in an ultra-dense case with 8-core 16-thread Ryzen, I'm confident I can hit 100% without crashing if the situation arises. Standard HSF cannot do this. In fact, I stood up to a 100% CPU test in a 75F room with no air conditioning running at 100% and all 16 cores running at 100% to see that the temperature was being controlled. There's no way I would ever run it hard, usually in this HTPC configuration, but without an observable temperature monitoring test, you honestly don't know how hot your rig is in games etc. SANDRA reported 0.130W. Ryzen 2700 - 65W. TDP, yes. The regular HSF doesn't compare, although it did fit in my ITX cube. It idled at 50°C, which was far from usable. The scythe board was clipped from more than 10℃. The AMD Biostar Racing X470 ITX board is a standard rig without removing the MoBo and standard motherboard. By the way, this must be specified. I also feel the need to say that you can just max the fan to 100% and not worry about the sound. Very superior compared to most HSFs. With this cooler I feel like I have a solid setup. 16G Ram, RX580, Ryzen 2700, Biostar 470 ITX Racing, CoolerMaster Cube. MP500 x 512GB SSD
