Works mostly, sometimes not recognized

I have an old system that I assembled at that time super high end in a fairly compact case on an Asus MicroATX board. The brackets on the original Intel cooler no longer held and the cooler has never looked so great. but it fit into a very narrow space. It's closed. It comes with Scythe thermal paste, but I used Artic MX-4. And when it works, it works very well. You have to remove the motherboard to attach this cooler, which was not the case with the Intel cooler. (Which, as I mentioned…

Works well with fans and cooling

I just built a new PC. My old computer cost me a fortune a few years ago and the components were still excellent. I didn't need 2 PCs in my house in super gaming towers, so I bought a SilverStone Technology SST-GD08B case to build myself a boosted HTPC using components from my now-old gaming machine. After assembling it, I realized that my old CPU cooler is absolutely not suitable. That's why I ordered this air cooler. I installed it in a SilverStone Technology SST-GD08B on an EVGO z97…

I could see and feel the quality. Just water **in this ITX** would beat it

Revain treated me well. About $7 less than the main competitor, PLUS they accommodate me for the night, yes, free! (I'm Prime). I could see and feel the quality. Five heatpipes side by side. I'm in an ultra-dense case with 8-core 16-thread Ryzen, I'm confident I can hit 100% without crashing if the situation arises. Standard HSF cannot do this. In fact, I stood up to a 100% CPU test in a 75F room with no air conditioning running at 100% and all 16 cores running at 100% to see that the…

Low profile cooler with excellent performance

Although I've heard of Scythe before, I personally haven't bought any of their products before this cooler. What brought me to them was the good reviews from general users as well as good reviews from scientific reviewers showing that this cooler is one of the best in the low-profile category. Initially I really wanted to use the Noctua NH-L9i as I have used Noctua a lot and am familiar with their performance and quality. However, I was surprised to find, at least in terms of scientific…

With the fan replaced, this is the king of SFF!

This item is great for small Itx builds. However, it can get a bit noisy. After installing the sfx power supply in the Silverstone sg13 case I had an extra 20mm gap compared to the 62mm I had when I had the ATX power supply there. So I have enough room for this cooler plus a regular 25mm fan instead of the 15mm fan that came with this cooler. I put a noctua ippc 120mm high static industrial fan on it and lowered the load temperature by 5C. The Ryzen 1600, which is slightly understated by…

Best 120mm ITX Cooler I've Found

As many of us ITX fans know, finding the right air cooler for your system can be difficult. We need good thermal performance, good acoustics and the right physical compatibility. Personally, I'm still too paranoid to switch to water cooling. And installing an air cooler seems easier to me in a small build. I've also recently become interested in thin cases like the Silverstone FTZ01E and the Nouvolo Steck. My previous build featured a Cryorig C1 on an ATX motherboard in a mid-tower case. And I…
