I have an old system that I assembled at that time super high end in a fairly compact case on an Asus MicroATX board. The brackets on the original Intel cooler no longer held and the cooler has never looked so great. but it fit into a very narrow space. It's closed. It comes with Scythe thermal paste, but I used Artic MX-4. And when it works, it works very well. You have to remove the motherboard to attach this cooler, which was not the case with the Intel cooler. (Which, as I mentioned, stopped sticking.) It has parts that attach to almost any mounting hole. There are several disadvantages. First, the instructions are ridiculously vague. A few drawings, nothing more. And second, my motherboard worked with a previous fan, but this one throws a CPU fan error at about 1/3 of the boot time. Even restart if it was ok and run again after reset. Really stupid.
