Review on πŸŽ™οΈ RCA RP5010 Digital Voice Recorder: Capturing Crisp Audio with Precision by Brad Laverentz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Useful, not convenient

My first DVR. I use it for my 2 weekly conference calls with clients. Both meetings last about an hour, then I write down the activities, release plans, etc. In the two months I had, I used 5 sets of batteries. Not too happy with this result. Too bad I can't find a 3 volt adapter that will fit. Not on this site, not on RCA.com, not online. Next station Radio Mine. 'Zon must provide access to this review. Be ready to flip coins on AAA cells. The Skip Back button is very complex and I use this feature a lot. Hold it longer it will jump slowly, hold it longer it will go a little faster which is the same as a jump forward action. But if you just hit the back button, you'll be taken back to the beginning of the recording! So I've been typing for 1/2 hour, don't hold down the little back button until she thinks it's necessary and I need to start over. Keep a close eye on the time counter when using any of these features so you can snap back to the moment you tapped it with your fat finger. I also hear a horrible squeak that's inaudible during recording but melts in my ears on playback. Happens only in the office (checked at home with no problems). Since I bought it at least for the office, that limits its usability quite a bit. I had to redo it, I would have bought more. Dennis Kucinich for President!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance
