Not as well designed as Utopia

I have bought quite a few mattress covers. My last renter had a German Shepherd that practically lived in bed for 6 months straight. The dog's smell was all the way down to the foam mattress itself. I thought the shell I was using wasn't good enough so I paid more for this shell this time. Also, the Utopia version has a few things that are better, although it did let the dog smell. Material: This case is not that thick or stretchy. Utopia and Safe Rest have the feel of a premium PUL diaper cover (exactly the same as fuzzi bunz material). This one is thinner and it looks like the lamination will tear if pulled hard. Design: The zipper has no layer behind it, so you basically have regular zipper teeth as a barrier. When we talk about spills, there aren't too many problems at the foot of the bed. If you're worried about bed bugs or mites, they'll crawl right through. The Utopia version also has a Velcro closure that covers the zip when closed to create a seal. Improved design. I noticed a difference between them and the more expensive Safe Rest brand. This design was a lot more like Utopia, but when you closed it up, there was a balloon inside. I had to work hard to roll the mattress down, squeeze the air out, and then tighten the last inch. I think that's a testament to the narrowness of the case. Looking back I think this was the best case I have ever bought.
