UPDATE: I've now worn them to the beach and nothing was sticking out and no shoes were filled with sand when I was done. I also wear them around pools, in public hot tubs, and in hotel showers. They are PERFECT for protecting against infection in open leg ulcers. STILL LOVE THESE! They are SOOO good! Very convenient! No support so I wouldn't want to wear them all day on concrete. but wow. I am shocked! You will be comfortable walking along the beach and not stepping on the shells. I have very wide feet 9.5 and ordered 9-10. I half expected them to be narrow in width but they are not at all! They feel almost like lightweight spandex (but have a firm sole). I have a skin condition that often leaves open sores in my arches, so walking barefoot on the beach is "NO WAY" for me. I'll update this after I get back from the beach on May 22nd and let you know if anything comes up. I honestly can't imagine what it's going to be like.
