The only problem with the installation was that the motherboard had a two pin connector (Molex) while this fan had a three hole socket. After researching this, I found that this really isn't a problem. Just make sure you mount it so the red and black polarity wires are in the same place as the original, and then you can safely ignore the missing pin for the yellow connection. This is only for measuring fan speed, which is not an important function. I purchased this item to replace the very noisy fan in my 7 year old Tivo HD player and I am happy to report that it is now working great again thanks to this very quiet fan.
