Good fan, but I would still avoid it.

Looks like a good fan, so far (15 minutes) it's really very quiet. But I would never buy it again, at least not until Nexus supplies installation screws. As mentioned, this fan is about 1" thick, so there's a good chance your original screws aren't long enough. No problem, I thought, I'll just buy longer screws. An extra drive to the Home Depot but I'm lucky it's close by and I go there often anyway. Ha! Good luck finding #4 x 1.25" metal screws! The longest is 1" and it won't fit. So, taking…

New life for my noisy old Tivo HD player

The only problem with the installation was that the motherboard had a two pin connector (Molex) while this fan had a three hole socket. After researching this, I found that this really isn't a problem. Just make sure you mount it so the red and black polarity wires are in the same place as the original, and then you can safely ignore the missing pin for the yellow connection. This is only for measuring fan speed, which is not an important function. I purchased this item to replace the very…

The best and quietest fan

I had a CPU fan that was very noisy. It started with silence, then gradually as the computer got warm the fan started working loudly to the point where you thought something was wrong with the computer. I accidentally put my finger on this fan and one of the blades broke so I needed a replacement. When the Nexus fan arrived after installing it on the CPU heatsink and booting the computer, WOW. I couldn't believe it. very quiet and very efficient. I still can't believe what a difference. The fan

Replaced Xbox Fan - Internals

This happened when my original Xbox console died (bad capacitors). I decided that if I replaced some parts, I might as well replace a few others. It's a little tight at the top due to the built-in fan having a thinner custom shape (and clips), but it still fits great. I held it in place with some zip ties and a few drops of hot glue. Be careful when installing, the bottom clips in the console are fragile and may break. I used mine perfectly, but it took a little patience. There weren't any…

I bought this case fan for my original Xbox and I have to say it is much quieter than most stock fans. Removing the original fan is very difficult and you can break the tab if this is your first time and you are not very careful. I broke my first one, some epoxy and I was able to fix it. I tested it with standard fans from different brands and at full speed this fan is much quieter. If you love me and are buying this for your original Xbox you can use zip ties if you like, I do, but the hard…
