I wanted a new tape measure as the one I have is pretty flimsy. I ran a review of roulette and Stanley excelled in many categories so I bought it. However, if I had looked more closely or known that it was only imperial measurements (inches) I would not have bought it. I live in a world that requires both types of measurements, the fact that it's not a hybrid is disappointing. . As a result, 2 starts are lost. If you don't need a metric, this tape measure is for you. It's solid, has a smooth retraction, and the locking is good enough, but you can move it if it's locked with enough force. Another issue to note is that the case is made of plastic. So if you drop it from a great height, it's likely to break.
