I verified that the product works on my computer by making sure the "input" from my old computer is to the VGA port and the " Output" to VGA port leads to HDMI port of Vizio Smart TV . My Smart TV didn't even recognize the computer and said it wasn't connected. I figured out the price, I was hoping I wouldn't lose so much money if it didn't work out. I also made sure the power was connected to a good USB port by toggling between ports and also tried a powered USB port from my new computer. None of the three worked. I think I should have accepted the results of other reviewers who said the product didn't work for them.
