Not my choice due to helmet construction material, but electronics are fine

NAME: Goldland Weld Protect Auto-Darkening Arc Welding Helmet PRICE: $51.99 at the time of this writing My Experience....I plan to started to "love” arc welding almost 50 years ago. But in no way do I see myself as anything other than a do-it-yourself arc and oxyfuel welder. I have both systems in my home shop. And when arc welding I only look at my arc helmet for eye/face protection. Goldland and even my current similar helmet do not protect my hair or my neck. Therefore, I pay attention to all other areas of the body as my own responsibility. Just sharing… About this helmet…. The Goldland helmet is considered by many to be an inexpensive welder's safety accessory for the "budding casual tradesman". I very much agree. However, that doesn't mean I recommend it to everyone; newbie or someone else. My main issue with this helmet is the actual body of the helmet. While the electronics and outer and inner plastic lenses are similar to my current helmet, the Goldland helmet's material is very malleable; no harshness at all. My old helmet (bought 5 years ago and now $55) feels more secure when tightened. Even when assembling the Goldland, this malleable helmet material made the initial assembly a little more tedious. So if I see a similar problem with a helmet with a different price and similar features to my budget helmet, I don't see an advantage. Because of this characteristic, I felt that this helmet was actually a lower level compared to mine. And mine costs within $3 from Goldland. Let's start with the material of the helmet, I prefer hard. And from my observations, most of the imported inexpensive helmets use very similar visual filtering electronics. So, with electronics as a starting point, I would look for the most durable helmet out there.
