Great for gaming/videos but not for the rest of the computer

I'm looking for a replacement for my 2x24" 1080P monitors that I've had for years. I decided I needed a 4K gaming monitor. I consume content and game on my system, so I had a very specific need for 4K for content consumption and a high refresh rate, because during my research I noticed that during this review only 2 monitors with 4K resolution, high refresh rate and technology Mini-LEDs were used, I decided to switch to Mini-LED, since TVs use it to check their images. This monitor is capable of producing beautiful stunning images especially for HDR.The big problem I have with this monitor (and why I returned it) is the effect of the halo you get into darker areas mainly around the mouse I first noticed this in the dark mode settings for the OS (I've seen it on both Windows and a also seen under Linux). This is an issue with this monitor and I've seen it in reviews of another mini LED monitor (Asus PG32UQX). I think some reviews mention that both monitors can use the same panel. After experiencing ghosting for the first time, I spend a week tweaking brightness/contrast or changing my OS themes to minimize ghosting. The only way to get rid of the ghosting is to run a light theme wherever possible or turn the brightness up to the maximum. This monitor can become blindingly bright, so the maximum brightness is not appropriate. To simplify matters for those reading this review; If your mouse is in an area that isn't perfectly black or not very bright, you'll have a halo around the mouse that appears and disappears as you move the mouse over the glowing areas of the monitor. It also appears after the mouse stops and is stationary over a dark area of the screen. Chrome's gray background from the dark mode setting and the default blue powershell console are two examples where you can easily see the halo. However, the perfect black color on the sides of a YouTube video doesn't create that kind of halo effect. At first I thought I was too sensitive to the halo and could handle it. I checked out some of my mouse click games (Sims4 and Warhammer 40K Marytr). The mouse halo is still present in these games (this halo also appears in the lighter area of the Sims). If you're playing games that don't require a mouse arrow to control the game, then everything is fine. However, if you are playing a game that requires a mouse cursor (Sims, RTS games, etc.) you will have a mouse halo in your game. During a system reboot, I noticed a halo effect for the spinning dots Windows has on reboot. Automobile. Due to my background I had a red shutdown screen with spinning white dots and the halo effect around the dots and white letters again for the shutdown message. This was my last straw and I decided to return the monitor. Mini LED is capable of producing a truly amazing image. When you pair this monitor with an HDR game, you'll be amazed at how good your games can look. At the time of writing this review, mini LED monitors are in the 1.0/early adoption stage and need an overhaul at the halo. Mouse ghosting and the ghosting I see in some other parts of my daily computer use really showed how early we got to mini LED monitors. The mouse halo was just the beginning, while playing around with the monitor settings I found the "Variable BL Mode" setting. This setting allows the halo to be adjusted. In one of the settings, I found that the mouse was just one of many halos on my screen. I've had minor halos around scrollbars or text in various windows I've had. There is potential for mini LED monitors in the future, but they're not yet available for those of us who want it darker or play click-style games. Overall, I'm giving this review 2 stars because of the ability of this monitor to produce a nice picture. regard. For the price ($2,500), the amount of Halo you get is way too much. I would expect some imperfections/issues but this is too much for me. Maybe mini-LED will be an option in a year or two. Just not today.
