Mount used to mount on ham radio antenna housing. We chose this mount because it comes with a detachable PL-259 connector, which makes it a lot easier to insert the cable into the vehicle cabin! The device bends slightly! Where I thought of putting an appropriately sized rubberized piece of foam under the bracket where it sits just above the hood to keep it from wobbling. It has the old name of a reliable radio company written on it. , (Midland) but how many companies can they be in name only? And if I had to guess, like almost everything else these days, they're probably made in the same Chinese factory as the others, with the same design, just different branding? has been in service for weeks now, suspended high speed interstate travel and staying put! (caution here): probably depends on how well it's installed! And like anything exposed to the elements, it should be taken care of! (Check that the hex screws are tight!) Again, what I liked best was the detachable PL-259 connector!
