I am using this in two Dell T110 5.25" drive bays so my experience will definitely not be the same installing in something else. It's very snug, but with a bit of lube on the elbow and twisting, it really slides in. The problem is that there are two metal "bulges" at the top that make contact with the body. Drilling it down really crossed my mind, but the idea of thousands of metal shavings climbing all over the case made this a bad idea. Note that the two bulges can scratch the top of the case. Another issue is access to the sata and power connectors. motherboard and connect them to the case first. As for the power connectors, unfortunately you have to connect them blindly unless you have some kind of t-adapter ra that you plug into the case first could. This way, with the case fully installed, you can easily connect the adapter. In general it's not very difficult but definitely routine, I think if you have big hands it might not be possible. As for the noise, I left the fan switch in the default position, it's definitely audible. I have a lot of other devices in the same room so it doesn't bother me. The HDD LEDs are a bit bright for my taste.
