Update: I just tried using the 4TB hard drive I used to test this adapter/backplane and found, ALL SATA DATA CONTACTS to your hard drive HAVE BEEN LOST! Not only that, the plastic backing is completely gone, and the plastic backing of the power connectors is also damaged (i.e. the 4TB drive is now unusable!) I have this case to make it easier to access my drives that I have in a ZFS pool as a media server for Kodi. Yes, you will need to modify the computer case to bend the tabs to fit. I am using this in two Dell T110 5.25" drive bays so my experience will definitely not be the same installing in something else. It's very snug, but with a bit of lube on the elbow and twisting, it really slides in. The problem is that there are two metal "bulges" at the top that make contact with the body.
