Kingwin Hot Swap Mobile Rack (2.5" and 3.5" B hard drives) came at discount because the power switch never turned on the voltage on the interface or the interface was bad, The power light never came on and Windows never saw the raw drives I inserted. I also connected the device to another power source that I use for such purposes and the device still didn't work and will be replaced. This raw, hot-swappable device was just what I needed to compliment my latest build. The frame is made of stainless steel and the clasps are painted steel instead of plastic like other devices with silver clasps. I thought the build quality was excellent, but I noticed a design issue that damaged some of the wire insulation on the power switch connector. Just behind the power button port is a notched strut with sharp edges that may have been used in another design but are non-functional in this particular device. I am attaching two photos showing the brace and this is the frayed wiring to my block. Worn insulation in my block isn't the cause of my block failure as I couldn't see the copper, but it could cause a short if left unattended. I put the wiring aside for photos. I have verified that the USB ports on this unit are properly connected as others here have complained of crooked USB ports. As others have said, if this is going to be used as a hot-swappable device, the power button and its connectors could be a waste of material. and should reduce the cost of the device if it is excluded from the project. There should be a dozen wires on the power switch connector, and a couple of those for the LED. Received my replacement today 7/30/2018 and wanted to add that this new sealed, not yet installed, wiring is right above the small sharp edged strut I wrote about earlier. The manufacturer must remove this brace because its sharp edges cut the insulation of the circuit breaker wiring, and that means nothing but future problems. I attach a photo of the wiring, it seems it is not placed there for nothing.
