This device seems to have many different functions but making them work together seems full of bugs and dangers. Instructions for updating the device's firmware are vague and the text file that came with the firmware doesn't match the video on the web. It's hard to know if you're doing it right. Given that when updating the firmware it says "don't turn off device" but then to complete the update it says "turn off device" and is vague *when* it will actually complete. The "light goes out" (it doesn't go out, it just stops blinking) makes you very nervous about the actual success of the update. An interrupted firmware update usually breaks the device, and that's exactly what people have been reporting. Luckily, I managed to free myself, but I wasn't sure at any point in the process. Maybe if the device was flashing blue and red alternately when it was done, or red when an update was done and solid blue when it was done, it was all very vague either way. In fact, I was able to install the ReCentral software on my computer when I realized that the installer would only detect the device in PC mode, even though it showed up in Storage mode in PC mode. I was actually able to get ReCentral to record some sort of video and two audio tracks, one (I guess because it crashed halfway through) in a video file that got corrupted and one in MP3 format that worked. I'll keep working on it and trying to get it working, but I'm not holding my breath. I hope to eventually be able to record video and audio from games as a single track and then output it to MP3 through headphones in PC-free mode. Let's see if it really works. Two stars so far. Maybe he'll get stars later.
