Review on ILIFE A9 Self Charging Compatible Medium Pile by April Smith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent with one downside

Firstly I would give it 5 stars apart from the incompatibility of the application with the tablet. So I can't comment on the wifi capabilities or the card. But (and I'm sure Revain breathed a sigh of relief as I've returned quite a few robot vacuums before) I'm leaving this one on the basis of sheer performance. I have a Shark IQ self draining. As I have dogs, my ground floor is divided in two by a gate. I use the Shark for the most part and find the self-cleaning feature too handy to part with. I didn't want to invest that much money in a smaller part of the ground floor, so I looked for a cheaper option; So I decided to try iLife. To be honest I don't think you will find a better robot at this price point. The remote control is enough to control the robot. The suction power is very good. Shark-level navigation. He finds his way to the base; or at least not yet stuck or clogged. At max, it sucks long enough to clean a smaller portion of the ground floor and even comes back a second time, leaving very few, if any, missed spots. The voice notification is a bonus. Because of the filtration system I find the filter doesn't get as dirty and I don't see a need to replace it any time soon. The trash can is the right size and does a good job on carpets. I sent back a couple of robots because they couldn't navigate the carpets (height). Again, no problem with iLife. It also circles around chair legs instead of bumping into them and then changing direction like the other robot did. It was packaged impressively and included two extra brushes and an extra filter. The machine appears to be very durable and recharges quickly. Reading this I don't understand why I kept the shark lol. If they ever build a self-cleaning version of this robot, I'm in. I would like to point out that none of the camera-assisted robots can match the navigation ability of the one I've tried laser navigation. Unfortunately I also sent the laser back because it couldn't handle the 1/2 inch travel with the mats.
