It Feels Like a Prototype, but Gives the Highest Lift That I Could Find

I don't think I could whole-heartedly endorse this product, but for the right person in the right situation, it is a good buy. I ruptured my achilles and was put in a VACOped boot, which when the large heel is used gives a full 3 inches of height. The even-up doesn't even come close to matching it. This was the highest level lift I could find, which is about 1.5 inches. Combining this with an Asics Gel-Kayano shoe just about aligns my hips. However, as other reviewers have pointed out, the instructions are a joke. They just say to adjust it to your shoe. Well you have to take off the rubber pieces at the end. I was worried the entire button would rip off, but it didn't. You then have to try to get the cover piece that holds you shoe in place off, which also requires bending the button quite a bit, but you can get it off. You place your shoe onto the platform and then pick which hole to put the buttons back through. Once I got it adjusted I didn't bother putting the rubber caps back on.Once you have it on, it does it's job. The bottom of it is very flat, and as others have mentioned, it is heavy. I'm 37 and fairly athletic, so I'm not too concerned about it, but if I were less spry or prone to falls then I would be legitimately concerned about tipping it sideways and breaking my good ankle (not to mention possibly breaking an elbow as well). If they introduced some rounded edges so that the bottom weren't so flat, improved the system that holds your foot in place, and used lighter-weight material then I think it would be more versatile option. As it stands, it feels like it got half-way through testing and they decided it was good enough for public consumption without really thinking through if this is a user-friendly product.I haven't yet gone down to the smaller heel, when I do, I imagine this will be too high and I'll be using the even-up instead. However, this will have done its job, awkwardly though, and I don't have any back pain while walking using it. For those who need a lot of lift, aren't a fall risk, and can handle a few pounds strapped to your foot then it's a good choice.
