Hardware wise this is a solid Sandisk stick. Fairly quick transfer to PC, no issues with USB or Lightning connectors. The problems stem from forcing the iPad to use proprietary software instead of relying on iPadOS to access files. In the latest version of the operating system, you can simply connect a flash drive with an adapter and it will appear as a location in Finder. You can copy files to and from disk and run the file directly from disk. iXpand forces you to use an application to access files from disk and the process of launching it is much more cumbersome. If I understand correctly you need to buy approved apps for smoother experience and not use the ones you want (like VLC are extra steps). I probably wouldn't have bought this if I knew the requirements of the app.
