This works well for every machine I've tried. I used a Mac Tools Scout from another store, the owner wanted me to use it, then taught him how to use it. This unit does almost everything the Scout does with the addition of extended European coverage (serving and modifying many Audi cars). The user interface isn't as good as Scout's, but the savings are worth the learning curve. I use it as a media player at work, use an internet browser, added a google calendar to schedule tasks while I work and have my email on it. It also serves as a good stand to hold it at the best angle to view your workspace. I then modified the case to allow for a larger USB port for my USB camera. I cannot respond to claims that it is a fake. It came with all serial numbers and packaging and a bunch of extra connectors (which I'll never use).
