Does it only work on Windows?

I was trying to connect this monitor to an Apple Air laptop using a USB-C port. Sometimes it worked, but often it didn't connect. On the HP support page, the OS drop-down menu only had Windows 10. Not worth the hassle, so I returned it. Might be good for a Chromebook. The price is right.
