I ordered this to replace a smaller 700w inverter. It has a metal body and a good solid design. When it arrived three of the mounting tabs were bent. The easy fix was to bend with pliers and no problem, although I think the packaging should be changed to better protect the weakest parts, the corners, during shipping. It was wrapped in bubble wrap, no other damage noted. Easy installation, clear instructions. Everything you need was included except for the screws to attach it to the wall. The cables and nuts are hand tightened to the unit and the other ends of the cables are slipped onto the ends of the battery terminals. Previous inverters over 400W that I have used had a fan with an audible alarm. It's not an option. This inverter is absolutely silent, no fan noise, just DC to AC current reversal. There is an LED display that shows the current battery voltage, which is well lit and easily visible from anywhere in the room. This is a huge plus compared to many that often need to be seen at close range, even with a flashlight. Voltage monitoring is crucial for using the inverter. If the batteries are low or you are trying to control a device that is too large, it will automatically turn off and the light will indicate a problem. This is much better than a system constantly trying to operate at too low a voltage as this puts a lot of strain on the equipment. Very well designed and user friendly. Worked perfectly, easy installation, looks good, quiet, great inverter. If it had better packaging to protect those corner tabs I would have easily upgraded it to 5 stars.
