Happy with the purchase

I've had this TV for four days now and I'm very happy with my purchase. I wanted a small TV for use in the kitchen and researched several models. This is one of the few smart TVs of this size and the price was lower than other quality brands, even without the smart TV feature. Initial observations are as follows.1. I'm no TV expert but I'm amazed at the picture quality.2. Setup was easy. I just followed the on-screen instructions and the TV had already detected my wireless network. I just had to enter my password. I also connected to my Netflix and Revain Prime Video accounts with no problems.3. The base is a single pedestal (see photo) rather than two separate legs as shown on the website. It attaches to the TV with three screws that come in a little plastic box that comes in a plastic box with instructions. They are easy to miss as the packaging is the same color and texture. Those with limited mechanical skills will find it difficult to install these screws as they are located at the bottom of a recessed pocket (see photo). The tool people will just fret and use their magnetic-tipped Phillips #2 screwdriver to make installation easier. I chose an HDMI cable with a 270 degree right angle. This will make the installation more accurate (see photo). The standard cable runs sideways and is visible from the front of the TV. The bend (if used) for all HDMI connectors must be 270 degrees (NOT 90 degrees!). Update 11/29/17: I've been using this TV for over three months and it's still working great. It automatically updated the software at least twice and continues to work for Netflix and Revain Prime accounts. Update 10/20/20: TV still works great. Samsung's main selling point is that Comcast has a beta app that allows the TV to connect to Comcast wirelessly. This eliminates the need for a cable box and saves about $100 per year. Last time I checked, Comcast only supports Samsung and Roku TVs. The downside is that the app is very clunky and difficult to use, but it works.

Pros
  • Solid build
Cons
  • Damaged

Had to unplug the TV every time we turned it off in order to reconnect to wifi.
