Review on Cuisinart DCC 450BK Coffeemaker Stainless Steel Carafe by Chris Pinkston

Don't believe the negative reviews

I used to have a 12 cup coffee maker which was actually too big as I'm the only coffee drinker in the house. Not only was it too big for my use, it also took up extra space on my counter because it was too tall to fit under cabinets. So I thought about buying a smaller coffee maker but the one I had still worked very well so there was no point in buying a new one. Then the carafe broke which gave me the opportunity to buy a smaller one. I have read the previous reviews for this product and I disagree with all the negative reviews. For example, opening the basket while brewing is a mistake because you have to snap the lid open before brewing. If you snap it, it won't open. Then I read that the carafe gets too hot, but why even touch a hot carafe? It's made of stainless steel (as unbreakable as a glass carafe!) so it gets very hot to the touch. If you are looking for a smaller coffee maker that works well and takes up less counter space than larger coffee makers, then this is the coffee maker for you. It's well constructed; Definitely not cheap stuff. It also seems very durable, much more so than my previous car. I would highly recommend this to anyone. The only downside I have is the carafe lid which is a bit difficult to remove from the carafe; but it's such a small minus that it really doesn't detract from how good this coffee maker is.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • So far so good
