Review on Tilta TA T01 HCC Blackmagic Pocket Cinema by Leroy Stanton

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not as great as I had hoped.

I bought this cage because it looked like it was very well designed. Aside from blocked HDMI and USB connections, I'm not a big fan. It might work better if you buy all the accessories - for example, there's no way to install a top handle that I already had/liked/used, both screw holes on top do not match in any configuration. I ended up buying a Tilta pen and it does the job well, but I don't like it as much as my leather-wrapped wooden grip. The same goes for my quick release plate, I can only put one screw in it, but their quick release plate is not suitable for my setup. If I had used Tilta's quick release mechanism and top handle, this cage would probably be better, but it would be cumbersome to mix and match with parts from other brands.

Pros
  • A quick release top handle and various optional side handles can be attached to the cage to provide various ways to conveniently control the camera.
Cons
  • Slightly torn
