We bought the product TWICE and for the first time connected this RS232 with the pin numbers printed on side 2,3,5. (Standard RS232 connections) Well it turns out their printed numbers on their connector weren't 2,3,5 for RS232 which gave us a lot of heartburn when we were wiring a home automation system to a security panel. Finally we checked with a multimeter and found that it uses pins 9, 8, 6! "Someone" at the factory must have been sleeping at work! The second time we bought this product we connected it to 9,8,6 and lo and beholdβ¦β¦β¦β¦.NOTHING AGAIN! It's time to get your multimeter AGAIN! Guess what? This time they used the numbers 2, 3, 5! *(Got it) Moral of the story, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS check the pinout with this manufacturer! In addition, the product works. sigh.β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦.
