Review on JVC HARX900 Black Full-Size High-Grade Headphones by April Scott

Well, I've been watching these baddies for about two years now. I liked her look and the reviews were excellent. In the end I decided to pull the trigger and buy them. Ironically, after purchasing it, I also realized that maybe the bass wasn't as good as it should be. I was a bit nervous between reviews. To start with, if you don't like music without intense bass, then these are a lot better than your regular in-ear or in-ear headphones. This is crystal clear, ultra clear sound. However, if you're looking for something that can hit hip-hop, rap, techno, or bass-heavy pop, this isn't for you. This item arrived today and I am very pleased. I really like the look, they are big but very comfortable. The cups completely covered my ears and overall I was very happy to wear them. However, once I plugged them in and started using them, they let me down at the starting line. I love rock, metal and some heavier bass stuff. Rock sounded very clear, but immediately lacked bass punch, even when played hard with the EQ. Don't get me wrong, the sound quality was excellent. The soundfloor is probably the best I've ever heard! However, the bass simply lacks the power. My favorite song for measuring bass depth is I Am The Best by 2NE1. There's a big sliding bass and heavy beats in the beginning. The sound effect is rendered correctly, but there is no aggression in the bass at all. I've tried a few more songs and while you might get the impression that this track certainly has an impressive sound, it doesn't have any hits. I'm rather disappointed in that regard as the quality of everything else was very good, but I really like the feel of the bass when listening to music and it didn't come out at all.
