Simple and effective for diffusing oils without water or messes

In recent years, my wife has really gotten into essential oils. She uses them in the bath and topically to relax and soothe herself. She puts them on her pulse points like perfume, and she likes to use them to naturally deodorize our living space. Since we started traveling, though, she realized it's not possible to take her water-based diffuser with us--partly because it's got a glass top, so it's breakable, and partly because it takes too much space. We also can't use it in our RV, because it increases the humidity, which is a no-no. When she saw this set of wooden diffusers, she was really excited.First of all, they are small. At a mere two inches high and one inch in diameter, she can slip one in a snack sized Ziploc baggie and tuck it into our luggage. In the RV, they take up very little cabinet or counter space.Second, they are effective. She puts about half a dozen drops of her favorite essential oils in the little indentation at the top of one of these diffusers and sets it in a corner of a countertop in the kitchen or bathroom wherever we are. The oil quickly saturates the wood and then diffuses throughout the room. The scent is not overpowering and lasts a few hours. She likes that there are two in the set, because that allows her to use one for floral and fruity fragrances and the other for minty or spicy scents. They are different colors of wood, which helps her tell them apart. So far, we have found that spearmint seems to diffuse the best and works well to relax us and cover up offensive odors.Because they are a single block of wood, you don't have to worry about spills like you would with a reed diffuser. They are kind of plain looking, and the oils discolor the wood over time, so you may want to put them in a votive candle jar or something similar to make them look nicer.Although $12 for this set is probably more than a couple little blocks of wood are worth, they are well-constructed and come in a nice little cloth bag. They would be a thoughtful gift for someone who enjoys aromatherapy or likes to scent their homes with natural essences, rather than chemical perfumes.
