I purchased this item for performing a once per week workout of my wrists through the full ranges of motions. My purpose is for strengthening my forearms; not wrist rehab.I'm delighted with this purchase ! Excluding grip exercise, there are 6 other exercises for either forearm strengthening or wrist rehab. These are all pictured at: Physical Therapy Management Of Colles Fracture - Morphopedics. This Detuck resistance tubing assembly provides for an elegant way to do 3 of those motions: flexion, extension, and radial deviation. Simply sit in a chair and put the tubing beneath your feet. Next, while pressing down your feet, grab both handles and rest each forearm on a corresponding thigh for support, with your hands overhanging your knees. Then go at it !There are many similar tubing-handle assemblies available from other brands, but this one is unique. AFAIK it is the only one with a provision for quick and easy length adjustment. And that feature works remarkably well ! To secure the tubing in place, simply place the special plastic ball alongside the tubing within the oval thru-hole in the handle frame.Tips:There is a bit of friction between the handle's frame and its axle tube. This can be PERMANENTLY remedied via graphite powder lubrication. A small squeeze tube of this powder is available at ebay, or at an auto parts store, or hardware store. Simply peel back the foam grip about ¾" to expose a ½" x ⅛" wide rectangular hole in the tubular axle. Squirt once, then rotate the handle 180 degrees and squirt again. Then reposition the foam and work the graphite in by twisting the handle. The result is smooth, satisfying operation. After lubricating both handles at a total of 4 points, I recommend wrapping the foam grips with electrical tape. Otherwise, the foam will eventually tear due to repetitive use. The taped surface is also much easier to keep clean, as it will be exposed to sweat and whatever foreign matter that rubs off your hands.About me:You might say that I'm an expert when it comes to elastic resistance training. Long before I purchased this item I had been working out in my home with various types of elastic bands and tubing; well over 7 years of broad experience. I eventually quit visiting commercial gyms in favor of my two regular routines, which now comprise a total of 32 different elastic resistance exercises. Only a couple of those exercises have been only marginally effective due to either limitations in that equipment or some inadequacy in my home ( insufficient height or anchoring issues ).
