I have a Vive HTC with a wireless adapter setup. The OEM cable from the battery to the WLAN adapter is very thin. And all the flexing of the cable due to many hours of use, eventually it started shorting out internally. It uses this male-to-male USB Type-A connector. This is no ordinary cable. I'm already a HUGE fan of Monoprice cables and such. Quality and a lifetime guarantee with no problems. So I specifically checked to see if they have this cable. (They obviously did!) It's definitely a heavier mode than the OEM cable, but that's okay because it doesn't cause any weight loss on the wireless box. The part that comes out of the battery is arranged vertically, so it is not subjected to excessive force. And from the back of the wireless adapter, it's already sloped down, so I'm not too worried about long-term wear and tear. If this indeed happens sometime in the future, it's time to update my VR setup. (The first-gen HTC Vive is pretty old right now, but it's still very functional and worth the cost of this cable to make it work.)
