Avoid if you have large ankles/calfs

My 65 year old wife has small feet but wide ankles. The small socks fit her feet well but are too tight on the ankles/shins. The top of the sock practically does not stretch around the circumference. We gave them to my son's friend who is 28 years old and is 5ft 7" and can weigh 100lbs soaking wet - they fit her.
