Like everyone else, we have a lot of brooms, mops and dustpans that need to be cleaned up. I may have been skeptical as the handles can grip but are still easy to hang up and let go. I'm not an engineer so I can't tell you how it works, it just works. The handles are inserted by pushing and released with a quick jerk. We use all seats without problems. The only problem I had was positioning my husband's holder. He slammed it squarely against the wall of the pantry door, one end of which is behind the door frame. This makes the last slot a bit awkward to use. But I can't get it back. Live and learn! I would try to find a pin for at least one of the screws, otherwise I recommend holding the holder when you pull on the mop handle or the screws in the drywall will start to loosen.
