Early last week we had a particularly bumpy morning at home/work/school. I spent about 45 minutes asking my eight year old daughter what she would like for breakfast and offered to help her prepare it. The moment I sat down and started the Zoom meeting for work, she burst into tears because she was starving and the only thing she could eat was eggs. I encourage her to help boil the eggs when I'm in the kitchen with her, but I'm still uncomfortable with her cooking the eggs while I'm working rather than next to her. Chaos ensued, and it was certainly a rocky start. I remembered these little hobs popping up in my feed from time to time. And I've always dismissed them as just another gadget we don't really need because we're obviously good at cooking eggs on the stovetop with good old pots and pans. And then I realized that this gadget can allow my child to be a little more independent in those moments when I can't help and all they need is balls. GAME CHANGE. My purchase arrived yesterday and this morning we opened the box and tried it out. Holy cow. These things are amazing. My egg bites were soft and fluffy and incredibly delicious. Gillian couldn't stop talking about her family and how amazing they are. And bonus: she can make them herself! Really tasty, and I should have given this kitchen utensil the attention it deserves a few years ago.
