Review on Clover 4031BK-B 487/W Double Tracing Wheel: Precision at its Finest by Wendy Rodriguez

The concept of a dual track wheel with adjustable width and direction is great. However, the execution of this design is terrible. The gauge wheels themselves have a more jagged edge and didn't tear up my pattern like sharper wheels, so that was a nice bonus. The white part of the handle you hold was good, durable and comfortable. However, the "legs" or rods that run from the measuring wheels to the handle are very fragile and will bend under the pressure required to actually USE the measuring wheel. You should be able to apply pressure to transfer the information from your design (e.g. hem fold) to your material (in my case it was just plain muslin) but the pressure on the gauge wheels caused them to stretch and bend. One of the tracing wheel's legs is bent almost 90 degrees, and the tracing is done only on muslin with a fabric pattern. If these legs were solid instead of metal I would love this fancy tool but unfortunately I will be returning it as "defective" because it doesn't live up to the advertised job.
