I wanted to talk a little with the device before writing a review. I had a very old Scala Q2 that would no longer connect to newer phones. The price of newer Sena models and devices was prohibitive, especially since I needed at least three devices. All I needed for my needs was an intercom, a phone line, and a wired connection because I still have an iPod. This was one of the few devices with a wired connection, so I decided to give it a try. I actually ordered two sets. The first was the previous design and the second was the latest redesign. The new design was definitely better for the button layout. The mount is a little tighter on the helmet but doesn't clamp the device as well as I would like. The Scala unit had a rail mount and secure lock to provide a backup system. It only has one clip in the system, although that hasn't been a problem yet. One of my biggest complaints about the Scala was that it was easy to hear. I ride with earplugs to protect my ears and the Scala's volume is barely audible. The M1-S Pro was loud enough to be heard at a medium volume and there was plenty of room to get louder. So that was a big plus. The phone connected without any problems and I heard the callers perfectly and vice versa. I had problems with the intercom function, but it turned out that one of my devices was defective. After some questions to locate the problematic part, the seller sent me a new unit. With the new intercom system it worked perfectly! One interesting thing I found is that your phone can play with a wired device at the same time. The benefit of this is that you can hear Bluetooth instructions while still listening to music over a wired connection. However, the volume doesn't decrease when an instruction is displayed or a phone call comes in, so some method of stopping the wired device is required. I assume most won't have this problem as most will only use Bluetooth. I haven't had a chance to see if it will be linked to other brands, but I don't take it for that. If he bonds with Sena, that's just an added bonus. The bike-to-bike call worked well, although I didn't get a chance to check the distance. Pros: * Loud enough to hear with earplugs. * Excellent sound quality during playback * Easy connection to other devices and phone (which is what I need). try it anyway) * Wired connection for audio * Uses standard micro USB connection for charging * Service response was great and quick * Battery life seems good although not fully tested. Provides feedback on battery life. * Multiple microphone and speaker mounting options. * Buttons are easy to feel with gloves (especially new design) Cons * Fixing could be stronger * All functions may take some time to use (other devices are the same as there are few buttons). * The microphone isn't part of the unit like the Scala, so that's not necessarily a big issue, but you'll need to find a good place to mount it. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to those who just want a cheap Bluetooth intercom for their motorcycle. . They have most of the features that most people would look for in a Bluetooth device.
