I wasn't too sure about this combination of light and fan but I gave it a try and I'm glad I did. I have a home office that is not very big. It can be about 100 square meters. A very old 52 inch light brass/faux wood fan with a light kit hung from the ceiling. The fan was too big for the room and hung too low. It took longer to remove this old fan than to install this one. The instructions (if you can call them that) are not very good, but figuring them out is quite simple - unscrew 2 screws to remove the bracket from the fan, install it in the overhead panel, connect the wires (the fan is red ). and blue, and you probably have white and black at home - connect the blue wire to the black wire), lift the fan, screw the two screws back into the bracket and you're done. The wire nuts included in the kit were too big (mounting wires are really tiny); Luckily I had smaller nuts. A few nits - the color of the wire, as described above - this can frighten people. why four holes in the fan housing when you only use two screws? No batteries - I think this is the first time - the problem is that you finish the installation and if you don't have an AAA you can't test it. The black cable runs along the side of the case. I think it's the remote control. I positioned the fan in such a way that it is not noticeable, i.e. aimed at the corner of the room. Most of it is plastic and it looks like plastic on the floor. But once it hangs, you really can't tell. The fan blades can only be cleaned from the top, which is a bit awkward since you have to go inside the case and it's a bit cramped. There is no fan. reverse switch. The remote control pictured in the instructions is not the one I received. Close and I figured it out easily, but there's a cryptic button at the bottom of the remote. I have no idea what he's doing. On the plus side, it has a unique look. When it's on, it looks like one of those old round fluorescent tubes, but without the flickering. Gives a lot of light. My room is small, but it can light up the bedroom easily. The fan drives a lot of air. There is a buzz, but I expected that. Lots of light and fan options. You can increase/decrease color temperature, brightness and three fan speeds. There is also a two hour timer.
