Review on Milton S 217 Style Coupler Plug by Steven Lane

Revainrating 5 out of 5

WOW is what I missed!

I installed these plugs and almost immediately had to rush over here and write a review, all I can say is WOW! 2.5 HP, which is generally considered very decent. All my hoses and fittings were also HF, most from their "starter pack". From day one I suffered from poor tool performance, even with 90psi tools at 120+ (which you shouldn't), everything always seemed underpowered from grinders to needle scalers, the only thing that worked half decent is an air nozzle. It was so bad that it made me think about air tools in general, or maybe my compressor wasn't big enough, or my regulator got removed. Then my fittings started leaking so badly that my new high frequency earthquake impact gun wouldn't work when it leaked. I have these V-type Miltons (which seem to have HUGE holes compared to the M-type), same hoses, same regulator, just all new Milton couplers and. wow wow wow I suddenly understand why pneumatic tools are awesome. I'm not exaggerating, most of my tools seem to be 2-3 times more powerful, they don't even seem the same! My HF earthquake barely worked, it sounded sick and very slow, like an old fishing boat, I also thought it was defective, NO, it just didn't fit well. No kidding, now it sounds like a powerful punch, before it almost didn't want to work, now you pull the trigger and the damn thing wraps its arm around it, it's got that much snot! My straight grinder runs 2 or 3 times faster. Seriously, why hasn't anyone told me this before? I'm sure the cheap RF components made my initial problems worse, but they seem to have fixed every problem I had and they don't leak no matter how I twist or squeeze the clutches. I'm buying another set to outfit a few more tools.

Pros
  • V shaped couplers and plugs are great for high volumes and low pressure
Cons
  • fragile
