First, there's no thundering bass, which some reviewers have eluded. However, it should be obvious that this is a single 8-inch woofer in a small box. In doing so, he turned my towers into full-fledged loudspeakers and filled in some octaves that they didn't have. Also this was my second sub, I use the 5.2.2 setting so my main sub is killer, this should just round out the bass in the room a bit. I love that it's only 7 inches wide and hides well behind the TV. The included RCA cable and 90 degree angle is complete rubbish. Do yourself a favor and buy an RCA cable and this (or similar) 90 degree RCA adapter: 70-100Hz. I don't like deep bass. With deep bass, you get a lot of woofer movement but not as much sound. It has more high bass (100 Hz). It doesn't compare to my 10" subwoofer, but I never intended to build one. One purchase, it's perfect. Don't be fooled by notions of size as it can be, reading some of the other reviews which seem to push this to a level it isn't and can't be.
