During the summer in western Pennsylvania, the amount of phosphorus in our municipal water increases. This product is designed to reduce levels of phosphorus which promotes algae growth. That's a huge pillow. Just cut it to fit your application. This works well but not as well as IMO granular phosphate filter media. Determining exactly how much substrate to use for a given size aquarium is more difficult. Lots of trial and error.
