One hour treatment gave results of three consecutive treatments ALL NIGHT with my dentist's 12% solution! As other reviewers of this product point out, you need to be careful with the solution as it can burn the inside of our lips and gums. Vaseline helps. If you have a burning sensation, give it a few days to heal. I also crumpled up a paper towel and put it in my mouth between my teeth and bit down gently to keep the mouthguard in place and the gel on my teeth. Keeping it away from the inside of your mouth and not using too much lest it overflow leaves only a slight sting that goes away after a few minutes. You can feel it bubbling on your teeth. They have this particular kit that has 2 tubes of bleach and 2 tubes of remineralization treatment and as others have pointed out you need to order more remineralizer if you use it after each treatment. So far I've had about 6 treatments from the 1st tube of whitening and it still lasts for 1 or 2 more tubes and I have big teeth. I've only had 3 treatments using my dentist's tubes. Again, as others have pointed out, one of the great things is that it does NOT make your teeth sensitive. After 3 treatments with my dentist's solution I had to stop using it for a few weeks as my teeth became so sensitive that I even used toothpaste to reduce the sensitivity. So I never got the whiteness I wanted to get. I have never seen my teeth this white after about 6 treatments and my teeth have always been quite yellow. My first tube had an area that seemed a bit thick and hardened and I followed the directions to add some water to the solution and let it soak to soften it up again. It says it stops potency, which appears to be true since I used that portion and it was still bubbly and white. After 3 initial 1 hour consecutive day treatments I let him rest for a few days and now place them every other day. So far, so good. It's only been less than 2 weeks. Waiting for results after a month of use. Then I think I go to maintenance once a week. The price is half the price of my dentist's product with twice the amount of solution.
