Review on πŸ”§ Custom Size 5S Tool Box Shadow Foam Organizers (Black Top/Yellow Bottom, 18"x36") - Boost Efficiency and Organization by Adam Jauregui

Decent if slightly overpriced product.

At work I've used many other products that don't have a sticky back and you have to fuse the two layers with a heat gun, which is always a problem. I recently bought a pack of this foam to organize some small kits I've put together for my shop at home and it has advantages and disadvantages compared to what we have at work. First, the foam itself appears to be the same. as I am used to, and sticking two layers together is much easier thanks to the adhesive backing, clean and with careful connection. Not so good; The adhesive paper is probably thicker than it should be and the glue sticks to your knives quickly. I use single-edged blades where I can and change them more often than usual. The X-acto I use for small cuts was a pain from having to constantly clean it. The glue doesn't seem to have caused too many problems with the spacers I use for the round holes, although cracking is a bit of a problem. I suspect this material would be in a bee's lap if you used a laser cutter because it would eliminate those imperfections. A few other notes. First, I see all the complaints in the comments about trying to get the highlighter to mark the backing paper for the layout. Stupidly, it never occurred to me to try this (I still haven't read the instructions), so I just covered the surface with wide tape to make my layout as usual, and never got frustrated trying to mark the paper underlay, or render my layout in reverse order. Second, the price is quite high for what you get. If I were trying to shade the entire closet (or multiple closets) I would find another option. I actually don't really like the shading of the boxes; It's something I have to do at work due to aviation responsibilities, but I usually avoid doing it in my home business as it's more trouble than it's worth and your tools take up more closet space. But for a use like the picture I've attached where I've spent a ton of time making a tool and putting together a kit that I'll have for a while and I don't want to roll around in a drawer and buy a box or two Styrofoam - a good option in terms of time compared to installing a wooden box, making vacuum-formed plastic, etc.
