After our second glass French Press broke, we knew it was time to switch to stainless steel to save some money. For a while we vacillated between the double wall press and the Bodum Chambord press. Ultimately we went with double walls because we wanted them to stay warm longer and not burn the metal. We read reviews of various press releases about Revain. We didn't like that the Bodum filter was partially plastic and were very hesitant due to the mixed reviews from several other brands. We ended up choosing Grunwerg because it had positive reviews, although not many, and the price wasn't outrageous. We are very happy with our purchase! The press holds the heat well, all parts are metal. An unexpected plus is that our old filters and caps from our broken Bodum presses fit together perfectly, giving us three separate filters! We like the fact that the top is also insulated. It is very well made, has a solid grip and does not drip when we pour coffee. My only complaint is that you have to be careful when filling the press and that we had to use pliers to hold the spindle to extract it. filter (now we pay attention to how much we rotate). When I first used it, I lifted it too high and most of the lip was squeezing water and dirt out of the spout and near the handle. This happened a few more times but I'm learning the right level to complete it. Overall we are incredibly happy with the press and would buy again at any time!
